AKA Entertainment & Media is proud to present its fifth annual Texas Pete Twin City RibFest on June 11-14, 2009. The nationally recognized festival includes two performance stages featuring nationaland regional musical acts, along with other entertainment, rides and games, a market, and of course, rib cookers competing for awards and feeding hungry attendees.

Because of tremendous growth in its first four years of existence this year's RibFest will move from its traditionaldowntown location to the Winston-Salem Entertainment & Sports Complex just outside of downtown.  As a result, the 2009 RibFest promises to be the biggest and best one yet with ten nationally recognized rib teams selling their barbecue and vying for awards. Five teams return from last year's event including Carolina Rib King (SC), Checkered Pig (VA), Dr. Brownstone's BBQ (NC), Pigfoot (OH) and Sgt. Oink's (OH). New teams this year include Smokin' Joe's BBQ (OH), Willingham's BBQ (MN) and My Happy Place BBQ (OH), Big Boned BBQ (TN) and Smokin' Rednecks BBQ (FL)

According to McDavid, not only has the field of barbecue teams grown so has the caliber of the musical acts. Two performers already signed for this year's RibFest are Hal Ketchum and Vanilla Ice. Says McDavid, "Nowhere else in this area can you see the quality of entertainment we have for a mere $6 admission fee."
